What We Appraise
Do I need an appointment for an appraisal?
We offer insurance appraisals on items purchased from our store, but do not do appraisals on pieces purchased elsewhere.
If you would like a verbal appraisal, please call for an appointment. Verbal appraisals are the best route whether you are interested in learning more about your jewelry or are looking to sell it either here or elsewhere. If you are looking to get an offer on items for sale, there is no charge. If you are simply looking to find more information about the items you own, there is a $45 flat fee for up to every 5 pieces.

What We Buy
Do you buy diamonds?
Yes. We are typically looking for diamonds that are half a carat or larger. We are interested in any shape and are especially interested in antique cuts.
Do you buy gold or silver coins?
Yes.
Do you buy old jewelry?
Yes. We’ve been buying Austin’s unwanted fine jewelry for over thirty years, and our offers are always competitive. We will buy broken chains, scrap gold, loose diamonds and gemstones, silver flatware, and old family jewelry. We’re especially looking for vintage pieces.
What factors go into the buying decision?
There are a variety of factors that go into an offer for purchase. What is the value of the piece in terms of retail, wholesale, and liquid value? How easy is it to sell? Do I have one or more of this type of piece in inventory?
Why should I sell to you instead of a Cash-For-Gold store?
Although we do buy gold as part of our services, we also buy jewelry. Therefore, we can pay over precious metal spot prices for most items. Our offers are non-binding, and we encourage you to shop around to ensure you are getting the best the best price in town.
Do you charge to look at items I am interested in selling?
We never charge to look over your pieces and make an offer.

What We Custom Design
Can you repurpose or redesign an existing piece of jewelry?
We take older jewelry and diamonds and incorporate them into new custom pieces. We will take the precious metals on trade or as a credit.
Can I have you custom make a piece of jewelry for me?
You dream it, we’ll make it. Call or email to make an appointment, and we’ll get the ball rolling. Photographs or drawings help, but your imagination is all that is really necessary.

What We Repair
Do you service Rolex watches?
Yes. Drop the watch off with us, and we will get back to you shortly with an estimate. Once the estimate is approved, the watch will be serviced and returned within 3-4 weeks.
What kind of repairs can you do?
Ring sizing, stone setting, stone replacement, laser welding, chain repair, bracelet repair, and rhodium plating. We will successfully repair jobs that a lot of other shops will not attempt.
Can you repair and refurbish antique jewelry?
We specialize in older fine jewelry repairs and refurbishment and can often complete jobs that other repair shops are not equipped to do,
Do you replace watch batteries?
Yes. Drop off the watch, and we will typically have it ready within two business days.
Do I need an appointment to get my jewelry repaired?
No. Come by any time during business hours to drop it off.

What should I use to clean my jewelry at home?
We recommend you first bring your jewelry to us to clean and inspect it, but if you must do it at home, use warm water, a little dishwashing liquid, gently scrub with a toothbrush, then rinse off. If using this technique, be very careful with emeralds, pearls, turquoise, coral, opal, foil-backed gemstones, and oxidized jewelry.
Do you do engraving?
Yes, we do inside ring engraving, and we can do hand engraving on custom pieces.
